RELEASE 2013 – product info

Our 2013 harvest is inside and I am happy with the result. It has been a very difficult vintage in terms of crop thinning and cleaning/selecting grapes.
Below is an overview of the wines of the new RELEASE 2013; our wines of the 2012 vintage and our Magma® 2011, a great vintage and profound wine.

Lots of rain and humidity and a very late start of the growing season made me nervous as to pick or hold. The problems were various for the 2013 harvest as the maturation generally was 2 weeks late and in every single vineyard the maturation was extremely variable from one vine to another. Grapes cut to the floor at Campo Re vineyard

Bad weather has especially hit the Randazzo area this harvest. In September we had to cut away the damaged grapes due to a hail blast which luckily did not ruin all grapes because we left a good leaf quantity over the clusters. Still, the loss was great and more than 2000 kg. of grapes were cut down.
