We finally produced a good quantity of olive again! The 2013 picking season started a bit later than planned as Etna was active and the ash dropped on the trees in the Linguaglossa area where most of our top growths are located. I decided to wait for a week and let the rain and autumn storm clean the trees and olives.
The quality is good to very good+, but not entirely up to the level I expected. I still have a hard time to understand which are the circumstances needed to produce a great olive oil as this year the olives were perfect visually and health wise. But still, the 2002 quality has not been equaled.
I hope one day to understand the mechanisms of Nature which will enable me to produce a truly great and profound olive oil.
