Family birthday picknic up mount Etna

What a relief to drive up the mountain during August when, even in our valley high up mount Etna, temperatures are “too hot for comfort”.
On my birthday, I just simply wanted a nice and especially quiet day with family. And we succeeded! Not always evident to get to this point…
Cool air, shade from beautifully big, century old trees and a simple, delicious lunch with a good bottle of wine. Our Contadino 9th edition to start with, just bottled, and afterwards a bottle of Jean-Pierre Robinot’s Chenin Blanc 2007.
A privilege to have these trees and this mountain so close to home.
