What does the number behind the name of the wine mean? (complete product list)

(updated, 26th Nov 2015)
When I started producing wines in 2001, I did not understand anything about legislation in labeling products.

When we had to make labels for our first wines, I was so confused with the different “quality levels” that in the end I chose for the simplest and most basic “quality level”: Table wine.
Back in 2002, mentioning the vintage or other information on a Table Wine label was not admitted by law and so I decided to use my numbering system, starting from 1, being the first time this wine was produced, moving on in time.

As of 2010, European community has given the possibility to add the vintage indication to the lowest legal category of wine, which is now simply called “Wine”! The labels of the 2012 vintage will therefore say “Vino Rosso”, “Vino Bianco” or “Vino Rosato”, and will carry also the information of the vintage. Although a part of the information can now be written on the label, I feel this is not enough as the information on the legal label remains limited for most of our customers and thus not informative.

In order  to inform our clients regarding vineyard site, varietal and vintage, on every wine and label we produce, we will enter into the D.O.C. Etna and Sicily which will enable us to write all this information on the labels. This will create transparency as we cultivate over 12 different vineyards sites from which we produce single vineyard wines, called “crus”. We hope to have all bureaucracy lined up to convert to the D.O.C. status with the vintage 2014 (RELEASE 2015). The mentioning of the edition on the wine label will continue as it has become an estate tradition.

As time moves on, me getting older, and us producing more different wines, as well as in some vintages not producing certain wines, the editions will become hard to follow up. The list below will therefor be helpful for you as well as ourselves, with some additional vineyard information.
I will keep this list updated as otherwise even I will loose track of the editions and vintages!
